Early Voting Begins in May ElectionsEAST TEXAS — City and school board elections are coming up around the state on May 4, and early voting starts on Monday. In Smith County, it will run this Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. The hours are extended on Monday and Tuesday of the following week, when they are from 7:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m. Early voting for the Tyler City Council District 3 race and the TISD Districts 3 and 6 races is at the Hub on East Ferguson. Early voting in the Bullard ISD election is at the Bullard First Methodist Church. Early voting in the Winona city and school elections is at the Winona Community Center. There are two locations to vote early in the Chapel Hill school trustee’s election. They are at the Chapel Hill ISD Administration Building and at Jackson Elementary School.

A voter will be asked to present one of the seven (7) acceptable forms of photo ID. The acceptable forms of voter ID are:

*Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
*Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
*Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
*Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
*United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph
*United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph
*United States Passport (book or card)
