Special Training in Child Abduction

TYLER – Area law officers are gathering in Tyler today to receive special training in child abduction. The training is provided by special agents of the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team, which is known as CARD. The officers on hand are receiving training based on the FBI’s Child Abduction Response Plan. It is the national model for best practices when responding to and investigating cases involving children who are missing under mysterious or suspicious circumstances. The CARD team has nearly a 90% success rate in identifying and apprehending child abductors.
