The Theft of Fire Department EquipmentTYLER – A Smith County fire department is reporting the theft of jackets and pants. The bunker gear was stolen from the Chapel Hill Fire Department. Around ten pair of pants and jackets were stolen. This gear is essential in keeping the men and women of the Chapel Hill Fire Department safe and is an integral part of their life saving equipment. Most of the jackets have a “Chapel Hill” or similar marking on them. The photograph is an example of the stolen bunker gear. The actual items may look slightly different. This burglary possibly occurred between February 18 and February 22. The Smith County Sheriff’s department is asking for your help in recovering the items or arresting the suspects. If you can help, you are asked to contact Detective A. Lugo with the sheriff’s department.
