TYLER – Now that Nix is resigning from the south Tyler city council position, Criss Sudduth announced that he will file his candidacy for the post. Sudduth, a lifelong resident of Tyler, has owned Ark Assurance Group, an independent insurance agency, for the last 28 years. In announcing his intention to run for the city council position, Sudduth said “I want to continue the conservative pay as you go plan that was implemented years ago and has allowed our city to make improvements by paying cash, eliminating our bond debt and keeping city property taxes low.” In a written statement, Sudduth said, “We must remember that city government’s number one priority should be public safety of our citizens. I am passionate about supporting our police and fire departments. We must also work to improve our infrastructure in the city, focusing on traffic, drainage and street improvements.”
