Freedom Caucus Lays Out Legislative Agenda

AUSTIN — Legislation allowing Texans to carry guns openly without a permit is being pushed by the most conservative members of the Texas House, including an East Texan. The Freedom Caucus’s top priorities mirror those of Governor Abbott and House Speaker Dennis Bonnen. They want property tax reform and an overhaul of the school finance system. State Rep Matt Schaefer of Tyler says they also support a border wall. He says border security and immigration reform are at the top of the caucus’s list.
