Tyler’s Sales Tax Revenues Increase

In the period from October through December of 2018, Tyler’s sales tax revenues increased 8.98% according to a report from the state comptroller’s office. This compares to a statewide average showing an increase of 8.48% in sales tax revenue collections for cities across Texas. Since the current fiscal year began October 1, Tyler has collected $11,085,387. This is $913,753 more than the same period in Fiscal Year 2018. Of that increase, about $609,000 will go the city’s general fund and the remainder will be used for the city’s half cent sales tax fund.
