Tyler Man Arrested in Sunday Shooting

The initial report said a witness flagged down an officer and reported seeing a shooting happen shortly before 4:15 Sunday afternoon at the Westwood Shopping Center at S SW Loop 323 and Chandler Highway. Witnesses were able to give a suspect and vehicle description and officers were able to arrest a suspect. Kristian Perdomo, 25, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the Smith County Jail. His bond was set at $1,000,000. The man who was wounded is in critical condition in a Tyler hospital. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is continuing.
The Tyler Police Department is searching neighborhoods along Greenbrier Road between Highways 31 and 64 for evidence involved in an the aggravated assault. Investigators are asking if any citizens or businesses in the area have surveillance video showing a silver Toyota Avalon in the area between 4:15 and 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, December 16 to contact Tyler PD at 903-531-1000. Additionally, police are searching for a red bandana or hand gun in the area. If any items matching this description are located, contact Tyler PD immediately. Citizens are asked not to touch any of the items as they could potentially be evidence.
