Temperature Record for Tyler

TYLER – November in Tyler was cooler and wetter than normal. The thirty-day outlook for November 2018, issued on October 18, had called for above normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. The October 31 revision called for near normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. According to the National Weather Service, compared with November 2017, the month was 9.0 degrees cooler and 4.52 inches wetter. The year-to-date rainfall, through month’s end, was 3.53 inches greater in 2018 than in 2017.

The autumn of 2018 saw temperatures 0.1 degrees cooler than normal. However, rainfall totaled 24.64 inches, which establishes a new record for wettest autumn. The autumn 2018 replaces autumn 1985 which had held the record with 23.91 inches.

The normal autumn temperature is 66.4 degrees and normal rainfall is 12.34 inches. October 2018 was the third wettest October on record, and September 2018 had much above normal rainfall.

And Tyler has recorded a new record minimum high temperature for November 30th. The National Weather Service says Friday’s low temperature was 66 degrees. That beats the 63 degrees recorded in 2014.
