Fatal Smith County Accident

SMITH COUNTY – A Smith County man has died in a one vehicle accident. The crash occurred around 8:15 Thursday morning on County Road 370 just north of County Road 3100, northeast of Tyler. Dead at the scene was Ramsey E. Carrell, 75, of Winona. The Department of Public Safety says his pickup was heading south when, for an unknown reason, he drove off the left side of the roadway and hit a tree. The accident remains under investigation.
