Tyler Robber’s Conviction Affirmed

TYLER – A convicted Tyler robber has had his appeal rejected. The 12th Court of Appeals in Tyler has affirmed the robbery conviction of Letroy Dewayne Merritt. The Shreveport, Louisiana man had been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the robbery of the Walmart store on South Broadway in February of 2017. Merritt was an Assistant Manager of the store. Investigators believe he played an intricate role in planning and assisting with the robbery. Three others, who were also charged in the case, have been all been sentenced.

Justice Lashay Poole was sentenced to 7 years probation. Back in March, she was arrested after being accused of violating the conditions of her probation. Zaira Patterson was sentenced to ten years in prison and Breonna Poole received 10 years deferred adjudication. And three are from Shreveport.
