Gilmer Man Dies in Area Wreck

EAST MOUNTAIN – A two vehicle accident in Upshur County has left one person dead and one slightly injured. It occurred on State Highway 300, just under 3 miles east of East Mountain around 4:30 Monday afternoon. The Department of Public Safety report says Ricardo Refugio Quezada, 25 of Gilmer was trying to drive across the road when he failed to yield the right of way and was hit by a car driven by Karen Yvette Wallace, 50 of Gilmer. Quezada died at a Longview hospital while Wallace was treated and released.
