EAST TEXAS – Three persons have died in three separate area accidents. They occurred in Gregg, Cherokee and eastern Smith County. The Smith County crash occurred around 12:15 Wednesday afternoon on Farm Road 850, one mile west of Overton. Slater Dylan Brabec, 17, of Arp, later died at UT Health-Tyler. The Department of Public safety says the accident remains under investigation. The preliminary report said that the victim’s car was heading east at an unsafe speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle in a curve and it left the road and hit a tree.

Another fatal accident occurred just north of Kilgore. It happened just after 8:00 Wednesday morning on Interstate Highway 20, in Gregg County. Dead at the scene was Enrique Dominguez, 50, of Miami, Florida. He was a tractor trail rig’s sleeper compartment and was tossed from the vehicle when it left the road, traveled down a steep embankment, and hit a large group of trees. The driver, Raul Sanchez-Ramos, 58, of Hialeah, Florida, is in serious condition in a Longview Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

In Cherokee County, one person was killed and one injured in a two vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 175, just over 6 miles west of Jacksonville. Dead at the scene was Stacie Stallings Means, 49, of Frankston. In serious condition at a Tyler hospital is Ervey Alejandro Zuniga, 19, of Lufkin. The DPS says Zuinga’s pickup was heading east when it drifted into the on-coming lane of traffic and hit Means’ car. The accident is also still under investigation.
