East Texas Restaurateur Dies

ORE CITY – Funeral services are Monday for restaurateur David Beard. According to Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, Beard, who was 82, died on Friday. Known for his Catfish King and Catfish Village restaurants, Beard opened his first restaurant in 1969 near Ore City. Services are at 2:00pm following a noon-1:30 visitation, all at Ore City Church of Christ. Burial will be at Coffeeville Cemetery.
