Drug Overdose Believed Responsible after Body Found in Vehicle

TYLER — A woman who was found dead in a vehicle Monday in northern Smith County is believed to have died from a drug overdose. According to our news partner KETK, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Ashton Nicole Williams of Van was identified as the person who died. Her body has been sent for autopsy to determine an exact cause of death. Deputies found Williams lifeless on Pecan Drive in the Enchanted Lakes Subdivision after receiving a welfare check call around 12:40 Monday afternoon.
