A Drop in Area Unemployment

AUSTIN – Tyler’s unemployment number continues to be better that the state’s figure. Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1% in April, up slightly from 4% in March. Tyler’s unemployment number went from 3.7% in March down to 3.4% in april. Both numbers are better than the 3.8% that was reported in April of last year. Longview’s unemployment number dropped from 4.5% down to 4.1% in April. It was 5.2% a year ago.
