More Charges Filed in Smith County Gambling Raids

TYLER – The owners of two suspected Smith County illegal gambling businesses have been arrested on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity. Salim Abdul Hussain, 65, and Dilshad Ali, 58, both of Tyler, were free on bond when they were arrested on Monday. The two own stores on Highway 64 West that were raided in early February. They were charged with keeping a gambling place, gambling promotion, and possession of gambling devices and equipment. Deputies seized 11 gaming machines and money. They are currently free on bond on the new charges.
