TYLER — For the second time in the last few weeks, the city of Tyler has tabled a requested zoning change. Xing Tan, a Chinese businessman, is looking to build a master-planned “East meets West community.” According to our news partner KETK, the land he’s considering is off the western part of Loop 323, near Sam’s Club. The project is mostly condominiums, but the zoning would allow the company to build with towers up to 15 stories high. The zoning request has been postponed until further notice. The city earlier voiced concerns about the cost of providing services for the new community, which staffers say would be Tyler’s largest-scale development ever.
