Woman’s Body Found in Wooded Area in Upshur County

GILMER — The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in a wooded area Sunday afternoon. According to our news partner KETK, the body was found around 3:30 Sunday afternoon off FM 726, just north of Highway 154, by people riding recreational vehicles. No identification was immediately released. Authorities say the condition of the body indicates that it had not been at the location for more than a very few days. Area law enforcement agencies have been notified to contact Upshur County S.O. if they have had a person reported missing recently. Officials say more information will be released as the investigation continues.
