TYLER – The Ms. Texas Senior Classic Pageant is returning to Tyler. After being held in the Metroplex for 20 years, the pageant was held in Tyler the past two years. At a news conference Tuesday morning, the pageant’s State Director, Peggy Wagner of Plano, announced it will be returning to Tyler this September to the Holiday Inn on South Broadway. While in Tyler, the pageant has grown so, they had to add additional seating last year. The pageant is all about changing the image of aging. It is for women ages 60 and older.
The women are judged in four areas. They have to write their philosophy for life in 50 words or less, there will be an interview with the judges, they will model a gown and exhibit a talent, which Wagner said could be anything from singing or dancing to decorating a cake.
The pageant was won last year by Ms. Hopkins County 2017, Patsy Roan Crist of Cumby.
If you are interested in entering the pageant, you can contact Peggy Wagner at 214-707-7415 or Jo Anne McMeans of Tyler at 903-780-0349 for more information.
