TYLER — There’s lots to report on improvements and updates at city parks in Tyler. The Southside Park bathroom reconstruction began on Feb. 27. In January, the City Council approved the investment of $43,364 for repairs at the park. That’s after a fire damaged the restroom facility, leaving it inoperable for park goers.
Highlights of other parks improvements in progress
Hillside Park: The orange construction fence has gone up, playground equipment and other amenities removed, and the area will continue to be under renovation for several months.
Faulkner Park: The upper concession stand is being renovated this month, with expectations to open in early March.
Fun Forest Park: Texas College has contracted to use Tommy Paul Field, and repairs to the swimming pool are currently in progress.
Lindsey Park: New signage will begin appearing around the park.
Rose Rudman Trail: New LED trail lights will be up and going by the end of March, pending weather.
