Smoke Detectors Save Lives

LONGVIEW – The importance of smoke detectors has been pointed out by a Longview fire. The fire was reported on Monday on Kennedy Trail. It was started when an unattended candle ignited the window curtain. No injuries were reported, thanks to a smoke detector. A woman was asleep in a back room when she was awakened by a smoke detector. Longview fire officials say it is important to have a working smoke detector in each bedroom and adjacent hallway.
