The Pending Retirement of ETMC’s Elmer Ellis

TYLER – The president and CEO of the East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System, Elmer Ellis, says he is looking forward to his retirement later this month. Ellis plans to step down February 28th. The native of Paris, Texas, moved to Tyler in 1968. He assumed the role of assistant administrator of Medical Center Hospital, now East Texas Medical Center-Tyler. He was named the hospital President and CEO in 1985. Several special events – including a service awards dinner, honoring his 50 years of service to ETMC, community leadership reception and ETMC team member reception – will take place during the month.
