Elderly Woman’s Body Found in Smith County

LINDALE – The body of a missing Smith County woman has been found. Authorities had been looking for 83 year old Betty Freeman. She lived alone on County Road 4118 in the Lindale area. Her caretaker took her home around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. The caretaker reported her missing when she went to her home around 10:00 Wednesday morning. About 2 1/2 hours later, her body was found about a mile from her house. She appears to have died from overexposure and foul play is not suspected.
