Illegal Immigrant Sentenced for Aggravated RobberyGREGG COUNTY — An East Texas man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery. According to KETK, Juan Solis, 19, of Longview, accepted Tuesday’s sentence as part of a plea agreement. Solis, who was identified as an illegal immigrant, was also being held on an Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) detainer. He will have to serve at least half of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole. When released from prison he will be deported.

On December 5, Longview police were dispatched to an aggravated robbery call. Three men had been installing Christmas lights on a residence for a customer when Solis pulled up in a car and held the three men at gunpoint while he stole six firearms, computers, credit cards, cash, a cell phone and business checks from the business owner’s truck. Within one hour, police were dispatched to a shots fired call which led officers to Solis where they also recovered five of the firearms along with the other stolen property.
