Proposed Robert E. Lee Name Change on TISD Agenda

TYLER — A proposed name change for Robert E. Lee High School is on the Tyler ISD board’s agenda for tonight as a discussion item. The proposal drew a large crowd to a school board meeting last month, with strong feelings expressed on both sides of the issue. There’s been plenty of attention nationwide this summer to things that bear the names of Confederate figures. Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:00 at the Plyler Complex on Glenwood Boulevard.
