TYLER – Two Tyler men have pleaded guilty in Tyler federal Court to drug trafficking violations. Stacey Godsey, 44, and Joseph Shay Burton, 39, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to import anabolic steroids. They appeared Wednesday before before the U.S. Magistrate. Each man faces up to 10 years in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Federal prosecutors say beginning in the summer of 2014 and continuing until the spring of 2016, the two purchased anabolic steroids through the internet from suppliers located in China. They converted them from powder to liquid dosage units in the kitchen and garage of Godsey’s residence. The steroids were then sold and distributed to steroid users in Tyler and elsewhere. In the spring of 2016, when aw enforcement officers searched their residences, over 66,000 dosage units of anabolic steroids were found.
