Another Guilty Plea in a Tyler Drug CaseTYLER – A Dallas man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Tyler to drug violations. Sharjeel Jeff Ali, 29, pleaded guilty Monday in an appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nicole Mitchell. He had been charged with two counts of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and engaging in monetary transactions in a criminal activity. It is said to have occurred at a Tyler business. A co defendant, Saleem Jeffer Jiwani, pleaded guilty in the case last week. Their sentencing hearings have not yet been set.

Last August, a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement executed federal arrest and search warrants in Plano, Carrollton, Dallas and Tyler, as a result of a joint investigation by the U.S. Drug Administration, Plano Police Department, Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Smith County Sheriff’s Office. The men were arrested for selling synthetic drugs at the Minute Stop/Valero Gas Station located on Highway 64 West in Tyler and at Ashes Smokes and Tattoos located on Avenue K in Plano.
