Salvation Army Fan Drive Has Started

TYLER – The Salvation Army in Tyler is teaming up with some area businesses again this year for their annual Beat the Heat Fan Drive. The drive runs through the end of the month. Last year over 600 fans were handed out to those seeking relief from this East Texas heat. It may be hard to believe that there are residents who don’t have air conditioning. But agencies tell us there are many who don’t. And the fans that are handed out could literally be a life saver.

You may:
1) BUY A FAN and drop it off at the following collection sites:
*The Salvation Army – 633 N Broadway Ave, Tyler, TX 75702|903-592-4361 Collecting on site from June 1st-June 30th (fans will be accepted after this date)
*East Texas Refrigeration (ETR) – 4700 Old Troup Hwy, Tyler, TX 75707 – (903) 581-3771 Collecting on site and at any ETR van seen around town from June 1st – June 30th
*Walmart Neighborhood Market – 5976 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, TX 75703 Collecting on site Thursday, June 15th from 3pm-6pm
*Atwoods – 3000 W NW Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75702 | 903-526-6030 Collecting on site Friday, June 16th from 2pm-6pm (Special pricing will be available on fans)
*Lowe’s – 5720 S Broadway Ave, Tyler, TX 75703 Collecting on site Saturday, June 17th from 8am -12pm (Special pricing will be available on fans through Customer Service before collection day. Special pricing available at all cash registers on June 17th from 8am-12pm)
