Murder/Suicide Suspected in Death of Couple

SMITH COUNTY — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a residence on CR 272, in the Chapel Hill area of Smith County, where two bodies were found. Sheriff Larry Smith said the bodies were in advanced stages of decomposition. He identified the two as Charles Moore, 55, and his girlfriend, Gwen Dorsey, 25. They were found dead inside the house just after 1:00 Saturday afternoon. Smith said two handguns were located near the bodies and it appeared both had been fired inside the residence. At this point in the investigation, Sheriff Smith said it looks like a murder/suicide. The bodies have been sent for autopsy.
