Operation Snow Cone Returns to Kilgore

KILGORE – Kids in Kilgore may find themselves ticketed by the police this summer. Parents, don’t be alarmed. It means your kids are being good. Again this summer Kilgore police are participating in Operation Snow Cone. When a policeman sees a youngster performing a good deed, helping others, being respectful or giving back to the community they will hand out a coupon for a free snowcone at Charlie’s Snoballs. All of the Kilgore patrol officers will have the coupons. Some places they will be watching are parks, neighborhoods and even kids in cars who are wearing their seatbelts. The program is a great way for the officers to develop relationships with youngsters and help teach them the importance of making good choices, being considerate of others and doing the right thing.
