Rabid Skunk Found in Wood County

ALBA GOLDEN – A rabies case has surfaced in Wood County. A skunk in the Alba-Golden area was confirmed as having the disease. Sheriff Tom Castloo would like for everyone to pay close attention to wild animals. If you see a wild animal acting strangely or one that appears to be sick, you are asked to contact the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. Pay special attention to an animal that appears confused or aggressive towards domestic animals or people. And the sheriff encourages you to make sure your pets or animals are vaccinated.
