CANTON (ABC/Staff) — The cleanup continues in Canton following the weekend’s devastating tornadoes. Mayor Lou Ann Everett says they’ve been getting utilities back up and running. Everett said Monday that power has been restored to the city of Canton. She added that crews hoped soon to resolve issues with people who weren’t able to receive power, possibly due to some limbs down. Specifically, the power at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances HealthPark in Canton has been restored. A news release says the facility will be open to see patients Tuesday during normal business hours.
Everett also says they’ve been inundated with donations — and they don’t have anywhere to store the clothing and other supplies. “Please,” says Everett, “we do not need any more bottled water at this time. We have problems with storing it. Why don’t you wait until next week if that’s what you want to do and we will have a better idea of what we need and where you can take it for storage.”
