Homicide Investigation Underway in Union GroveUNION GROVE – For the second time in a week, a murder investigation is underway in Upshur County. Miranda Streed, 23, was killed early Tuesday in a shooting that Upshur County Sheriff Larry Webb said is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Longview News-Journal. Webb said his office received a call just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday about a shooting in the 100 block of Private Road 3367 in Union Grove. Arriving deputies found Streed dead. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Wyone Manes ordered an autopsy of Streed’s body. No arrests had been made in the case as of about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and Webb said the investigation is ongoing.

Webb asked that anyone with information about the shooting to contact the sheriff’s office or Upshur County Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips and offers monetary rewards for tips that lead to an arrest.

On March 28, Kendrick Lemichael Jackson, 29, was found shot to death in his home in the Lafayette community in Upshur County. Devontay Hunter, 20, and Decorian Quantez Robbins, 19, both of Lone Star; and Xavier Keishawn Mumphrey, 19, and Alize Sharda McFall, 20, both of Kilgore were arrested this past week in connection with Jackson’s death. Each faces a charge of first-degree murder.

Hunter remained Tuesday in the Upshur County Jail on $250,000 bond, while McFall remained in jail on $150,000 bond. Mumphrey was held Tuesday with bond set at $750,000. Robbins is being held in the Cass County Jail; he was arrested Friday in Cass County. Bond information for him was not available.
