Shoplifter in Custody

LONGVIEW – A shoplifter has been arrested in Longview. Clinton Paul McDowell, 42, of Longview is said to have tried to leave the Academy Store on Forest Square without paying for several boxes of ammunition. To compound his problems, he has 4 prior convictions for theft. McDowell has been charged with theft of property with two or more previous convictions. He remains in the Gregg County jail under a $5,000 bond.
