Man Sentenced in Pilgrim’s Pride Bomb Threat

LUFKIN — 40-year-old Almuhajir Salahuddin has agreed to a plea bargain of one year in county jail after he phoned in a bomb threat to a Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Lufkin last year. He pleaded guilty to class A misdemeanor terrorist threat. Originally he was arrested on a felony terrorist threat charge as well as several misdemeanor traffic charges. According to the arrest affidavit, the bomb threat cost the plant $2,200 in lost employee productivity and several hundred thousand dollars in loss of product.
