New UTT President Reflects on First Two Months in Office

TYLER — Dr. Michael Tidwell says things are off to a great start in his first two months as president of the University of Texas at Tyler. Tidwell notes that a broad goal of the university is to become the primary educational and economic driver for East Texas. On this week’s edition of “In Focus” on KTBB, Tidwell said while he was considering the job, he was impressed with the search committee. According to Tidwell, “They wanted to focus on community engagement, partnerships.
