Child Death under Investigation in Upshur County

GILMER — The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an 11-month-old child. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, police were called about 11:30 a.m. Thursday to a location on FM 2088 after receiving a 911 call in reference to an injured child. The child was transported to ETMC-Pittsburg but later was pronounced dead, police said. Upshur County Sheriff Larry Webb said the investigation is ongoing, and no details of the child’s injury or the child’s name were released.
