Dean Seeks Crackdown on Designer DrugsAUSTIN – In a continuation of policies enacted as mayor of Longview to criminalize designer drugs such as K2, state Representative Jay Dean has filed H.B. 2671, which would place certain scheduled chemical compounds with their corresponding penalty groups. Specifically, the bill would add U-47700 (AKA Pink, Pinky or U4) and AH-7921 to penalty group 1; and add Etizolam, Phenazepam, and Tramadol to penalty group 3. According to KETK, Dean remarked, “This junk is quite literally killing our young people, and the criminals who make and distribute it are not suffering the consequences.”
