Suspects Arrested following Narcotics Sweep

CHEROKEE COUNTY — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Investigators executed a narcotic search warrant at a house on Lincoln Street February 17. Suspected contraband was seized from the residence, including methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy and crack. The narcotics will be forwarded to the Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory for analysis. An undisclosed amount of cash was also seized. Lenard Atkins, 30, and Shonquea Thirkill, 32, both of Jacksonville, have been charged with manufacture or delivery. Atkins bond has been set at $100,000. Thirkill’s bond was set at $100,000. Additional narcotic charges are pending. They were both arrested in November following a drug raid.
A second narcotics search warrant was executed Friday on CR 1306, between the Rusk and Gallatin areas of Cherokee County. An amount of suspected marijuana was seized from the residence and three suspects were arrested for possession of marijuana. Keyonta Johnson and Quaisha Simmons, both 22 and from Rusk, along with Rondrick Foreman, Jacksonville, 29. Bond was set at $1,000 each.
