Firework Sales Later This Month in Smith County

TYLER – Smith County residents will be allowed to buy fireworks for two weeks leading up to Texas Independence Day, March 2nd. Smith County commissioners approved the action at the Tuesday morning meeting. Firework sales have been allowed for the 4th of July and New Years Day. In 2015, the Texas legislature allowed firework sales to be extended to three holidays, Texas Independence Day, San Jacinto Day and Memorial Day. With the commissioners’ action, firework operators who would like to open their stands, may do so, weather permitting, on February 16th through March 2nd.
