PRICE – Investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration & National Transportation Safety Board have been on the scene of a fatal Rusk County plane crash. The plane went down around 4:15 Tuesday afternoon on County Road 497 just off Farm Road 13 near the town of Price. The plane appears to have clipped a guide wire on a cellular tower and crashed into some trees. The Cessna 177 then caught fire. The pilot, the only person on board, was killed. The name will be released when the identification is confirmed. The FAA said the aircraft was used for pipeline patrol. It’s believed the pilot planned to refuel at the Rusk County Airport when the accident occurred.
