Three Suspects Arrested in Fatal Smith County RobberySMITH COUNTY – A third person has now been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that turned deadly early Saturday morning. It occurred at the Conoco gas station on North Northeast Loop 323. Sheriff Larry Smith announced Monday night that Kedarius Hayes Oliver, 23, has now been charged in the case. Previously arrested were Lamarcus Hannah, 32 and Demeon Mosley, 26. During the robbery store employee Billy Stacks, 62, was shot. He later died at a Tyler Hospital. According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, early Saturday morning, a masked man came into the station. Security footage shows the man jumping over the counter and pointing a gun at Stacks. Deputies said Stacks was shot twice during a struggle between the two.

After the robbery, the masked man ran from the gas station and later got into a vehicle which authorities pursued. During the chase, one suspect got out of the vehicle and ran into a wooded area around Texas Hwy 155 and I-20. The driver of the vehicle continued down Highway 155. Smith County Deputies set up a perimeter around the wooded area. DPS helicopters and K-9 units were also called to the scene. The vehicle was later discovered on FM 2015 at CR 334.

Around 10:30 Saturday night, arrest warrants were issued by Smith County Court at Law Judge Randall Rogers charging Lamarcus Hannah, 32, and Dameon Jamrc Mosley, 26, both of Tyler, with aggravated robbery. Shortly after the issuance of the arrest warrants, Lamarcus Hannah was taken into custody at the Smith County Sheriff’s Office where he was being interviewed prior to the issuance of the warrants. He was booked into the Smith County Jail with bond set at one million dollars.

The second suspect, Dameon Mosley, was taken into custody in Dallas Sunday by Smith County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and members of the Dallas Police Department. He appeared before a Dallas County Magistrate before he was taken to the Smith County Jail.

Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith said the suspects are in the county jail on charges of aggravated robbery. And Sheriff Smith said he expects the district attorney will take the case before the grand jury, asking that the suspects be indicted for capital murder.

In a news conference Monday afternoon, Sheriff Smith said he expects the suspects will also be suspects in some other area robberies. He told reporters he expects the Dollar General robberies to decrease by 100%.

Stacks body was taken to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas where an autopsy will be completed.
