Veteran’s Plaza Now Has a Home at Longview’s Teague ParkLONGVIEW – Because of a public private partnership between the City of Longview and the nonprofit, Veterans Recognition Foundation, Longview’s Teague Park is now home to a Veterans Plaza. It honors the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families. Located on about 2 acres surrounding the Teague Park pond, the plaza features unique individual monuments honoring all veterans. It also has a scale replica of the Vietnam Wall. Other monuments include memorials for 9/11, MIA/POWs, and conflicts in places such as Iwo Jima, Korea, Grenada, Iraq, Panama, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Bosnia.

The plaza was constructed thanks to fundraising efforts led by the Veterans Recognition Foundation. The nonprofit 501(c)3 organization continues to seek donations to pay for plaza construction and future projects. You can go to http://www.vetplaza.org to make a donation.
