Longview Bank Robber Linked to Other Robberies

LONGVIEW – A man who robbed the LeTourneau Federal Credit Union in August, may be responsible for four bank robberies. The suspect was described as a white man, between 45 and 50 years old and about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 230 lbs. He was wearing a baseball cap. The FBI has called him the “Barrel-Chested Bandit.” Sulphur Springs Chief James “Jay†Sanders tells the Longview News Journal man is also believed to have robbed a bank in Sulphur Springs in November, Albuquerque, New Mexico, in September and in Amarillo in October.
