Fire Death in Nacogdoches County

DOUGLASS – One person has died in a house fire in western Nacogdoches County. The fire was reported shortly after 5:00 Monday morning at a home on County Road 845. Killed was Bea Ellen Rich, 75. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firemen arrived. After the fire was put out, the victim’s body was found. Investigators believe that the fire started in the home’s bathroom, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Foul play is not expected at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
