NOVEMBER 8 GENERAL ELECTION – SMITH COUNTY
CONTESTED RACES
In complete, but unofficial returns, Tyler Congressman Louie Gohmert was returned to Washington by voters on Tuesday. Larry Smith has won re-election as Smith County Sheriff. In the Precinct 4 constable’s race, Josh Joplin was the winner. In Whitehouse, both school bond proposals passed. And Lufkin chiropractor, Dr. Keven M. Ellis won the race for State Board of Education in District 9. He will succeed Thomas Ratliff who did not seek re-election.
