Amber Alert Continues for East Texas GirlBULLARD — A nationwide Amber Alert continues for a 10-year-old girl reported missing from Bullard. Kayla Gomez went missing from the First Assembly of God off Highway 69, in Bullard, early Tuesday evening. A press conference was held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Bullard. According to KETK, FBI Dallas agent Thomas M. Class said the case is being treated as a missing child, however, an abduction has not been ruled out. The agent said Kayla was last seen at 7:30 p.m in the church lobby. Anyone with information is asked to call 972-559-5711. Agent Class reiterated no piece of information is too small and all leads will be aggressively pursued to bring Kayla home.

Officials had been searching for a Red Cadillac SUV that was parked at the church around the time Gomez went missing. They now say the vehicle has been found and is no longer considered to be of interest. Authorities were told Gomez is not known to be a “trouble maker,” and that running off is “very out of character.” She’s described as 4′, 90lbs, black hair and brown eyes. Her family says she was last seen wearing a black Racquet and Jog shirt and a peach skirt.

An emotional community prayer vigil was held outside Kayla’s home on Wednesday evening. Many people prayed for her return and consoled the family. A second vigil began outside Bullard City Hall at 7 p.m.

Kayla is a 4th grade student at Jack Elementary School. School officials said an FBI task force would visit the Jack campus to investigate the situation. The District is assisting in the process as requested from officials. Counselors were at the campus to provide assistance and support as needed for staff and students.
