Mother Found Competent for Trial in Daughter’s Death

ATHENS – A competency hearing held in Athens Tuesday found Stacie Parsons, 27, competent to stand trial in the death of her four year old daughter. A similar hearing back in April found her incompetent. With the latest ruling, Parsons’ trial is set to start November 7th. She has been charged with the death of her daughter Victoria in July, 2014. She went to the Athens Police Department and confessed to killing her daughter. Her body was found in the yard of their home. She is said to have died from head and chest trauma.
