Athens Man Indicted For Murder

ATHENS – A Henderson County man, who was arrested in Smith County, has been indicted in an Athens murder. The Henderson County grand jury indicted last week Jeremy Robert Lane, 25, of Athens, He had been charged with the August 6th murder of Mark Groendyk, 27, of New Jersey. The victim was stabbed multiple times at a party early that morning. Lane was arrested around 17 hours later at a friends home on County Road 1100 near Flint.
