Two Harrison County Jailers Arrested

MARSHALL – An investigation is underway into an incident that has resulted in the arrest of two Harrison County jailers. The jailers were arrested after an inmate claimed one of the men assaulted him. Jailer Billy Hopkins was fired and then arrested and charged with official oppression. Jailer Sansom Sanni resigned and was arrested and charged with making a false report to an officer about the case. The charges surround their actions in the booking of a combative suspect who was said to have spit on the jailers and even bit a jailer. The sheriff’s department and the district attorney’s office continue looking into the incident.
